It’s Not too Late! Use Your Dental Benefits for 2018
At Monarch Dental, we care deeply about all of our patients. Today, we’re sharing an important message about maximizing your dental health benefits before they expire on December 31. Please note that most dental insurance companies operate their benefits period according to the calendar year (January 1 – December 31). Come January 1, 2019, you’ll be starting a new benefits period. It’s important to note that no unused dental insurance benefits from 2018 will roll over into the new period.
In light of that, here are two ways to make sure you’re making the most of your dental benefits this year.
First, be sure you’re up to date on the routine visits. Most dental insurance plans cover 100% of preventive visits, such as the twice-a-year exams and cleanings. If you haven’t had a preventive visit this year (or within the last six months), now is the time to get one on the calendar before December 31.
Second, be proactive and plan your benefits. Schedule time to come talk with your dentist about your unique situation, your dental needs and possible treatments. If you’ve met your deductible, but haven’t reached your annual maximum, now is the time to discuss your options. Consider together whether the timing is right for services such as braces (no, they’re not just for kids), treatment for gum disease, root canals, and veneers. Your dentist can help you time your benefits to maximize coverage.
We want you to take care of your oral health and use the dental benefits available to you.
