Summer is right around the corner, and that means a lot of barbecues. While a good barbecue could never get old, the same flavor might. We are here to help with a few tips on how to spice up your summer with these amazing BBQ sauce recipes.

Spicy BBQ Sauce

To those of you who aren’t fans of the super spicy, no worries – this recipe from The Live In Kitchen can be toned up or down.

Prep Time:

10 mins

Cook Time:

8 mins

Combine all ingredients except the cornstarch mixture in a medium sized sauce pot. Bring to a boil over medium high heat and reduce to a simmer for five minutes or until the sugar has dissolved. Add the cornstarch mixture and simmer until desired thickness is reached, a few more minutes. Serve immediately or transfer to a covered container and store in the fridge.

Sweet-and-Spicy Barbecue Sauce

For those who like a little bit of sweet with our spice, this next one from My Recipes is for you.

Saute onion, minced garlic, and jalapeo pepper in hot olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat 4 to 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in ketchup, dark brown sugar, vinegar, apple juice, honey, Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, celery seeds, and dried crushed red pepper. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low; simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes. Use immediately, or refrigerate in an airtight container up to 1 month.

We hope these recipes keep new flavors on your palette all summer long!
